Paston will be running further clinics on Thurs 18th Feb AM and another on Friday 26th Feb PM – both clinics to be held at Rossis.
GP Practices are to concentrate on Cohort 6 (all individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality, and unpaid carers). Cohort 5 (aged 65 to 69) is to be done by the National Booking at mass vaccination sites.
A start will be made in giving vaccinations to Cohort 6 at Rossis this week and more clinics will be added in due course when vaccine becomes available.
We are sending text messages to some patients with a link, inviting them to book their appointment. Some patients without a mobile phone will be called by us. Due to the large number of patients in this cohort, it will take a number of weeks to reach everyone.
Please do not contact us to make an appointment – if you are in Cohort 6, we will contact you.
In connection with carers, the vaccine will be offered to those who are in receipt of a carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill. If you are such a carer, you can register this with us by using our Register a Carer form.
Cohort 5 patients are not generally being dealt with by GP Practices and patients should be contacted directly by the National Booking service. We understand that if local appointments are not available (i.e. the mass vaccination centre in North Walsham) and you are unable to travel, you should wait and check the booking system again in due course. Please allow time for more clinics to be added locally.
For more answers about the COVID vaccination programme, you may find NWCCG website helpful www.norfolkandwaveneyccg.nhs.uk/covid-19-vaccination-programme.
Please be assured that the Government wants everyone eligible to be offered a vaccination and over time, you will be contacted and a solution will be found to giving you the vaccine.
Thank you.
